Benefit Concert !

In honor of Tommy Gosser - son of Dr. Linda Manning and Prof. David Gosser - the members of Lambda Pi Eta organized a memorial concert on October 26, 2008. Along with other volunteers from the Communication Studies Department, CNU Greek organizations, and four local bands all gathering on the university campus, they raised over $3,000! The money has been donated to CureSearch, the world's largest childhood cancer research organization.

Lambda Pi Eta is the official communication studies honor society of the National Communication Association (NCA). LPE was founded in 1985 at the University of Arkansas. LPE became a part of the National Communication Association (NCA) in 1988, and the official honor society of the NCA in July 1995.
Lambda Pi Eta represents what Aristotle described in his book “Rhetoric” as the three ingredients of persuasion: Logos (Lambda) meaning logic, Pathos (Pi) relating to emotion, and Ethos (Eta) defined as character credibility and ethics.
The Lambda Pi Eta
Sigma Kappa Chapter at Christopher Newport University was founded in 2004 by current faculty advisor, Dr. Michaela D.E. Meyer. Our chapter's charter members, inducted in Spring 2005, included 18 individuals. |
