Academic Festival 2008 !

Freshmen entering Christopher Newport University attended the Academic Festival held during the week before classes began. All of the academic departments showcased programs and had faculty on hand to meet with prospective majors. In the Communication Studies Department, students were invited to personalize door hangers and caps as ways to self-express their individuality.

As part of the Communication Studies Persuasion class, students employ team work skills to coordinate fundraising events. Here, a group spent a Sunday afternoon at the local SPCA Shelter where they raised $200.
Proceeds were divided between the SPCA and the Communication Studies Endowment Fund which offers financial assistance for students who attend conferences and other educational venues.
